The procedure at a glance
Regular APS renewal
In France, the temporary protection APS is issued for 6 months and renewable while the scheme remains active. Extending the EU scheme does not mean annual renewal of the APS itself: follow the expiry date printed on your document and your prefecture’s instructions. Prefectures handle renewal differently: online, by appointment or by automatic letter. Watch your prefecture's website and your mail and start 1 to 2 months before expiry.
